Guidelines

 

Let all things be done decently and in order."  1 Corinthians 14:40

General

1. All retreat rules must be followed.
2. In order to attend the retreat, you must be in 8th to 12th grade.  No exceptions (children in 7th grade or below who want to attend with older siblings who are attending, are NOT permitted to attend under any circumstance)
3. If you have already graduated high school, you are not permitted to attend unless you are attending as a servant, in which case you must be pre-approved by Fr. Pavlos and the Planning Committee.
3. Registration for single-day attendance is not permitted.
4. Individuals must be registered participants of the High School Winter Retreat in order to be on the retreat grounds.
5. No refunds can be offered after January 29, 2012.
6. We cannot offer refunds to anyone registering or attending the retreat in violation of the established rules.

Bus

1. We will meet at St. Mark's on Friday at 5:30pm.  The bus will depart St. Mark's exactly at 6:00pm on Friday and will not wait on anyone who is running late.
2. All participants must travel to the retreat on the bus.  No participant is permitted to drive their own vehicle to the retreat.
3. No standing on the bus while it is in motion.
4. The center aisle of the bus must be kept clear at all times.
5. Please speak in a quiet voice while on the bus.
6. We must keep the bus clean.  We will not get off the bus until it is completely clean.

Housing

1. The retreat center will be the meeting place for all attendees. Assigned room accommodations will only have those designated participants within the rooms.
2. Occupants will be held financially responsible for any damages to the room occupied.
3. Absolutely no co-ed roommates will be allowed.  Any person found in the room of another person of the opposite gender is grounds for immediate dismissal from the retreat.
4. Sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels are NOT provided by the resort.  You MUST bring your own.
6. All participants are expected to bring their bible, agpeya, a notebook, and a pencil or pen.

Attire

1. Modest attire is required at all times.
2. Please bring a warm winter clothes appropriate for outdoor activities in the snow.
3. Please bring appropriate clothes for the meetings and lectures.  No shorts or sleeveless tops are allowed during the meetings or liturgies.
4. Please bring athletic-type clothing for gym activities.

 Attendance

1. Attendance at all liturgies, lectures and events is expected.
2. Cellular phones must stay in your room.  They will not permitting to be brought into the lecture hall.  They may only be used during free time and only to call parents.
3. Retreat attendees MAY NOT bring outsiders to the retreat center who are not registered with the retreat.

 Behavior

1. Electronic games or computers are not permitted.  This includes iTouch, iPods, PSPs, Laptop computers, music players, etc.
2. No smoking or consumption of alcoholic beverages will be allowed.
3. No profanity is permitted at any time.  Use of profanity is grounds for immediate dismissal.
4. Please remember this is a Christian retreat and as such you are expected to act accordingly.
5. If your behavior and violation of the above rules necessitates your dismissal from the retreat, your parents will be called and must drive to Dickson Valley immediately to pick you up.



Adhering to the above rules will guarantee a retreat with the utmost in spiritual benefits.


PLEASE NOTE: Any disorderly conduct that limits the other participants' right to enjoy a spiritual retreat will be dealt with immediately.
